Match Report
Another superb turnout at Ham Manor, which although originally 40 members booked (our biggest of the year & probably a number of years!), unfortunately for various personal reasons ended up as 31 turning up on the day to play our fifth outing of the year which is still fantastic.
Yet another course that was in fabulous condition and played in glorious sunshine (without question the hottest so far!) - which again made for a brilliant days golf. Thank you all again so much for your fantastic support and attendance. It really does make for a great day for us all and is very much appreciated.
On to the golf. As I said, the shorts were out, with many also sporting the new Foresters branded polo’s. We also saw some decent golf and close scoring again. There were 9 players in the high 30’s, 3 on 36, 3 on 37 and we also saw 3 on 38 tied at the top. So, another close field. However, the winner of the ‘W.E. Clarke & Son’ Cup on count back was Andy Williamson, well done Andy.
In 2nd Place, also on CB was one of our new members Mike Ridley, and in 3rd Place , again on CB saw another of our new members Gary Lock.
Nearest the Pins went to Russell Little on the 4th, who somehow used his driver! to put it within 2ft of a pin at the front edge of the green (whatever works for you I guess), and yes, Andy Williamson again on the 17th. The freedom of not being Secretary is clearly paying off! That’s 4 this year now! LOL.
Well done to you all.
Winner (if that’s the right word!?) of our new wooden spoon award the ‘Duffer of the Day’ went to Ken Donnelly.
So, all in all, another great day. Thanks, as always, to all of you for your support and enthusiasm. It really is appreciated
Paul Hon. Secretary
