Match Report
We had a fantastic turnout for Westerham, with 34 of us originally set to play in our second outing of the year. We also welcomed Gary Lock as a new member—great to have you on board! Thank you all for your continued support of the Society.
Unfortunately, three players had to withdraw on the morning, so 31 of us took to the course, with many proudly sporting our new Foresters logoed golf attire. (For those who haven’t ordered yet, I’ve attached the brochure—just drop me an email with your order and sizes, and I’ll do my best to have them ready for you at Dale Hill.)
The course and greens were in fantastic condition, and recent major tree pruning had opened up the course, making it more forgiving—certainly more so than Worthing! This, along with some impressive play, led to higher scoring, despite experiencing ‘four seasons in one day’ weather. At times, we even found ourselves putting through hail on two or three greens
Huge congratulations to our winner of the John Becvar Cup, Liam Sheehan, who claimed victory with 43pts. 2nd Place went to Lee Shergold on count back with 41pts, with our Captain Gordon Sims in 3rd Place also with 41pts. Well played to all of you.
Nearest the Pins went to Kevin Weatherill on the 4th and with exactly the same distance on the 11th were Mark Garnett and Mike McCartain. rather than having a ‘putt off’ (or a fight as someone suggested! Lol) Mark kindly offered the prize and honour to Mike. Well done to you all.
Despite the changing weather conditions, it was another fantastic day which I hope everyone enjoyed.
Thanks again to everyone for your support and attendance.
